Christian rights group decries arson attack on church in Sudan
Christian Solidarity Worldwide (CSW), a UK-based human rights organization, has condemned the April 6 arson attack on the Sudan Presbyterian Evangelical Church (SPEC) in Sudan's Nuba Mountains. The attack occurred against the backdrop of the ongoing conflict and disrupted the area's long history of peaceful coexistence. CSW's Founder and President, Mervyn Thomas, urged the authorities to ensure that the perpetrators are held accountable and that the Christian community can continue to use their place of worship without fear or intimidation. The incident highlights concerns about the safety and rights of religious minorities amid the broader conflict in Sudan.
