Latvia and Estonia Collaborate on Debtor Asset Hiding and Court Digitalization

On August 27, 2026, Latvian Minister of Justice Inese LÄ«biŒ†a-Egnere met with Estonian Minister of Justice and Digital Technologies Liisa-Ly Pakosta in Tartu. The ministers agreed to seek joint Baltic and European-level solutions to address the issue of debtors hiding maintenance assets. They also planned to continue discussions in Riga on digitalization and the use of artificial intelligence in the court system, involving academia and the business sector. This collaboration aims to strengthen the rule of law and public trust in the Baltic region.
