Portuguese force reinforces maritime surveillance in S03o Tomeé and Predncipe under AMLEP

A Portuguese national force, comprising approximately 30 military personnel and a P-3C CUP+ Orion aircraft, commenced a mission in S03o Tomeé and Predncipe under the Africa Maritime Law Enforcement Partnership (AMLEP). The operation aims to enhance maritime security in the region by supporting local authorities in monitoring and enforcing laws within their sovereign maritime spaces, particularly the Exclusive Economic Zone. The mission includes surface surveillance, information gathering to detect illicit maritime activities, and promoting bilateral cooperation in maritime security.
