High Court forms special bench for women and children cases

On June 11, 2026, the Chief Justice of Bangladesh constituted a special High Court bench dedicated to expediting the disposal of cases under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act. Comprising Justice Bhishmadev Chakrabortty and Justice KM Rasheduzzaman Raja, the bench is set to commence daily proceedings from June 14. This initiative addresses growing concerns over delays in resolving cases involving violence against women and children, aiming to provide timely justice to victims and their families.
