Norwegian Government Bans Products Made with Forced Labour

The Norwegian Government has announced a new trade ban on products manufactured using forced labour, including child labour. This measure aligns with the European Union's Forced Labour Regulation and is set to take effect by December 14, 2027, coinciding with the regulation's enforcement in the EU.

The EU's Forced Labour Regulation prohibits the sale of goods produced through forced labour within the internal market. Norway's adoption of this regulation underscores its commitment to human rights and ethical trade practices.

"Forced labour is, of course, already prohibited in Norway, and through this EU regulation, we will also introduce a trade ban," stated the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries.

This initiative reflects Norway's dedication to eliminating forced labour from global supply chains and promoting fair labour practices worldwide.
